Reel in Excitement: Boston's Inshore Fishing Heats Up!

Action-packed day from the get-go! I headed out on the water near Boston CO for some inshore fishing with Charlest on a beautiful summer afternoon. We launched just as the sun was starting to dip, hitting the water around 4:30 pm. The conditions couldn't have been better - clear skies and calm seas set the stage for what would turn out to be a memorable outing. Our destination? The productive waters around Block Island, known for some excellent striped bass action this time of year.

With our gear rigged and ready, we wasted no time getting down to business. I mixed up our approach, starting with some surf casting along the shoreline before switching to light tackle spinning as we moved further out. We also did a bit of bottom fishing, covering all our bases to see what would produce. The variety in techniques kept things interesting, and it wasn't long before we started seeing some action. The highlight of our trip came when Charlest hooked into a hefty striped bass. After a good fight, we managed to bring in a beautiful 35-inch striper - a catch that would make any angler's day. It was great to see the smile on Charlest's face as we admired the fish before safely releasing it back to the water.

As the evening wore on, we continued to work different spots around Block Island, always keeping an eye out for signs of feeding fish. The clear conditions made it easier to spot any surface activity, and we adjusted our tactics accordingly. While that 35-inch striper was our standout catch, we had consistent action throughout the trip, making for a satisfying few hours on the water. We wrapped up the outing with smiles all around, having experienced some of the best that Boston's inshore fishing has to offer.
